Pure cinematic poetry. No vampires! More like the world of Marcel Carne - docks and dim nightclubs and travelling theatre performers. Goes astray towards the end - introducing unnecessary sex and violence. But the very last sequence has tragic beauty. The less there is a story, the better. The disc includes a very good interview with Rollin.

also ich finde 1 mal kann man sich den film schon anschauen, er ist meiner meinung nach recht gut, verstehe die ganzen negativen kritiken nicht, gut es ist natürlich kein meisterwerk , aber liegt durchaus im durchschnitt

....dann ist man bei diesem Film genau an der richtigen Adresse.
Gott sei Dank haben wir uns diesen Film nur aus der Videothek ausgeliehen. Ohne Vorahnung und ohne Vorurteile was uns erwartet. Da die Hauptrolle von Dominic Purcell gespielt wird (besonders bekannt aus der erfolgreichen Serie "Prison Break"), war ich allerdings der Meinung, dass der Film zumindest kein Flop sein würde......das ist er aber definitiv!

Wie so häufig in C-Klasse Videos tappen die Schauspieler unmotiviert durch den Set und verhalten sich absolut unlogisch und dämlich, so das man sich schon fast darüber ärgern könnte. Die Handlung ist vorhersehbar und die einzelnen Charaktere bleiben total oberflächlich. Spannend ist es allenfalls die ersten 5 Minuten am Anfang. Der Film ist totale Zeitverschwendung, genausogut könnte man 90min einem tropfenden Wasserhahn zusehen.

an dem Film ist nicht vile neu, die Darsteller oft dümpeln herum, zu oft sieht man junge Ziegen gie nichts machen außer Schön sein, der Film ist nicht so gut, er ist auch teilweise langweilig und er bietet wenig Spannung.

Eigentlich habe ich den Film nur geholt,da ich ein fan von Dominic Purcell bin.Er ist OK.Aber ich habe mehr erwartet.Obwohl er zu den Hauptdarstellern gehört finde ich sieht man ihn zu wenig. Das Ende finde ich nicht so toll,da es meiner Meinung nach kein richtiges Ende ist.

Natürlich wiederholen sich Filme !! Das Rad wird nicht mehr Neu erfunden das weiss wohl jeder. Solche Beitrage mit einem eh schlechten Schauspieler kann einem in Zukunft erspart bleiben.

Der Klinikbesuch der jungen Studentin Abby Jones motiviert einen der Hochsicherheitspatienten wenig später die Flucht zu ergreifen. Fortan heftet er sich an die Fersen von Abby und trachtet ihr nach dem Leben. Währenddessen studiert Abby mit ihrer Mitbewohner wohlbehütet von Nachbar und Polizisten Carter Thomas zuhause.
Die geradlinige Geschichte wird einfallslos erzählt. Dialoge und schlüssige Handlungen feilen kaum an den Profilen der Protagonisten. Sie bleiben oberflächlich und austauschbar.

Psychopathen werden gerne in Filmen eingesetzt. Mit solchen Typen kann man immer ordentlich auf die Kacke hauen und oft ist die Motivation des Täters ordentlich ausgefeilt. Nicht im Falle von "Escapee" - da reicht schon ein Blickkontakt zwischen der Studentin Abby (Christine Evangelista) und Harmon Porter (Dominic Purcell) aus, der daraufhin eine wahnsinnige Begierde für sie entwickelt (Das erinnert irgendwie an die Möwen aus "Nemo": "Meins, meins, meins...!). Haben uns den Film (gottseidank) nur ausgeliehen . Der Film ist sowas von öde und vorhersehbar und die Darsteller(innen)waren einfach nur schlecht.Dumme Handlungen und Dialoge und dauernd Blitz und Donner (oh wie gruselig?) um die Spannung zu erhöhen die sowieso nicht aufkommt weil man vorher schon weiß was passieren wird .Nicht zu empfehlen das Ganze.

Die Entscheidung, "Escapee" auszuleihen ist wohl darin begründet, dass Dominic Purcell die Hauptrolle spielt. In Prison Break und ein paar Kinofilmen hat er seine Sache meiner Meinung nach sehr gut gemacht, zumal seine Charaktäre meist schwer zu spielen sind. Nach der Beschreibung hätte ich jedoch vielmehr einen Psychothriller erwartet. "Escapee" entpuppt sich jedoch schon nach wenigen Minuten als simpel gestrickter Horrorfilm im B-Movie-Gewand und mit

Infamous for Horror/Gore exploitation and a master in his field he tries with 'The Escapees' something infinitely more weighty.It is not what the characters say it is what they don't say that is key in this film. 'The Escapees' is presumably ahead of its time in exploring the underworld of exotic dancers and subversive vaudeville. However, the behaviour of the two leads who plan to escape from a mental (?) institution by way of a disused ice rink and smuggling aboard a freight ship is rather absurd - as is the shoot-out at the end and the policeman's observation that they are only children. Worth a look, but a bit of an oddity.

Jean Rollin's very rare film, known in France as Les Paumees du Petit Matin, is a must see for any Rollin fan! As a huge cult-horror fan I'm very excited that it's finally getting a release over here. Akin to 'Living Dead Girl' and 'The Night of the Hunted' and brimming with sensationalism, surrealism and seduction, as two beautiful young girls make an escape. An example of Rollin's vision for erotic poetry and a hidden gem for any fan of cult horror!!
