A return to greatness | 2022-12-08
I loved the Beach Boys albums up to Pet Sound plus some of the later singles. Once Brian became too ill to continue except for working on Smile and contributing some tracks tracks for albums and singles, the band fell away. Without Brian they put out albums that were more rock orientated like Holland, Carl and the Passion and Surf's Up. The best things about those albums were the covers. Unfortunately the songs were weak and rarely had the hooks like their songs did up to Pet Sounds. I have

Who'd have ever thought one of the finest Beach Boys albums would be released in 2011 ? Brian and the boys have managed to collect the nostalgic essence of everything Beach Boys with this release. We couldn't ask for a better final album.

This music is rich with the 4 and 5-part harmonies for which the Beach Boys are best known. But the lyrics and music are "all grown up." As a Beach Boy fan for 50 years, I just adore how they are embracing their own maturity and experiences as musicians and as every day people. WHY isn't this music being played on local stations? Not sure why, but I was hesitant to purchase this CD for fear that it would be disappointing. What an idiot I was. I have loved it since the first time I listened to it. The songs are great as are the harmonies. If you are unsure, get it.

Okey - vielleicht noch ein oder zwei gut mehrfach hörbare darüber hinaus.
Für die Beach Boys-Kenner strahlen die Songs Eins, Zehn, Elf und Zwölf deutlich heraus. Diese sind alle sehr melancholisch und gesetzt, bestechen zudem mit exzellentem Harmoniegesang. So wünscht man sich ein Beach Boys Alterswerk.
Der Rest ist eher von der Anlage der Stücke etwas für eine Geriatrieparty. Zudem bleibt das Album durch den übertriebenen Einsatz, der nun wirklich kaputten Stimme von Brain unter seinen

This is a solid release from the band, It's filled with many good songs and is well worth buying. Thankfully the band got together to make some new songs and they were GOOD songs. Nothing is bad on here, There's perhaps nothing great either but all the songs are at least very good. The sound is good and the tour that year was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. It had all the surviving members in it. SO. this one should be in your collection if you want mellow rock that is

Das hier ist in diesem heißen Sommer meine Lieblings-CD! Die Nachbarn wandern schon aus, so oft dudel ich die.
Die "neuen" Beach Boys spielen und singen wie in besten Tagen. Die Kompositionen und Arrangements gehen
ins Ohr, aber sind keine Eintagsfliegen. Man kann es wirklich oft hören. Vor allem gefällt mir, wie oft bei Brian Wilson,
dass das Ding vom ersten bis zum letzten Song einen Spannungsbogen und intelligente Übergänge hat.

This is a very mellow but very good beach boys cd. I wish they had more rockers on it , but it's still a good cd and it has real artistry in it. Unlike lets say techno music which anyone can do. IF you want real nice sweet songs then get this one, it has great vocals and harmonies and they actually play instruments on it.
