No es uno de sus mejores discos pero tiene grandes temas. Villancicos muy bonitos. El pedido llegó al buzón, yo no estaba porque llegó antes de lo previsto, cosa que no me gusta, ya que es envío Prime exijo que sea entrega en mano y solo al destinatario. La caja llegó rota, podrían ser más cuidadosos, ya que pagas algo nuevo, sienta fatal, por eso le doy 3 estrellas. No pido cambio porque el cd de escucha bien y puedo cambiar la caja por otra.

Llegó muy rápido y en excelentes condiciones; es muy bueno que aún se pueda conseguir el CD. En general toda la música de Lorena McKennitt es hermosa y ese será un regalo perfecto para Yule.

I have owned the Album for many years. It remains my all-time favorite. Loreena's incredible voice, the harmonies, the spare harp, cello and accordion accompaniments, and the echo of recording in old European cathedrals give each song an enchanted, soulful sound. I never grow tired of these ancient songs, and look forward to enjoying them every year.

Ho conosciuto Loreena McKennitt nel 1992 in occasione del suo terzo, stupendo disco “The Visit”, inserito da molta ottusa critica nel calderone “New age”, termine che andava di moda ma che non indicava nulla di specifico. Eccetto una edizione limitata e costosa di “The visit”, tutti gli album della McKennitt fino al 2006 sono usciti in CD, esclusi i primi due che l’artista vendeva direttamente in musicassetta (qualcuno ricorda cosa sono? 😊) ai suoi concerti e per posta.Dal 1992 per Loreena è

Assegno solo due stelle, oltre non si può dare .purtroppo il vinile stampato negli ultimi anni e cioè da quando è tornato di moda lascia molto a desiderare come qualita, scordatevi incisioni come facevano negli anni 80 ,meglio lasciar perdere e ascoltarlo in musica liquida, disco completamente con elettricita statica sulla superfice già da appena sballato dalla confezione .un disastro in tutto

The album is lovely. Lorena has such a unique voice and her arrangements always add interest to her songs. The traditional Christmas songs with her non traditional presentation are really easy to listen to even if out of the season. However, the jewel case was not intact on arrival and now I have no good way of protecting the disc. Hence the lowere rating.

Ich bin durch andere CD's von Loreena McKennitt auf die Künstlerin aufmerksam geworden und wurde auch von diesen Aufnahmen nicht enttäuscht. Besonders der Klang durch die Aufnahmen in Kirchen ist sehr beeindruckend.

Wer Loreenas Musik schätzt, wird auch dieses Album lieben. Auch wenn nicht alle Stücke exklusiv nur auf diesem Album zu finden sind.Es ist ein reines Winter/Weihnachtsalbum - und wenn man die Lieder hört, möchte man - in Anspielung auf den Albumtitel - den Winter eher noch zum länger Bleiben auffordern als ihn vertreiben, so schön sind die Lieder;)

I first heard this album in 1997, but in the almost 20 years that I've been listening to it, the timeless carols and songs on this album have never become threadbare. This is, in short, my favorite Christmas/Winter album ever. McKennitt's vocals on this are beautiful, ethereal, haunting, absolutely perfect. Le seul album de McKennitt que je garderais, rien à jeter, l'amateur de musique ancienne que je suis à toujours été sensible à cet album, elle s'égare trop dans les autres disques dans le new age et des arrangements parfois de mauvais gout.
Un album à écouter l'hiver, bien au chaud.

I was less than impressed with this album. The music lacks harmony and coherence, the lyrics rarely matched the melody, and to top it all, she just didn't sing th songs with her usual passion. I really loved "The Visit" and "Book of secrets", but this album came close to putting me off Loreena forever! A great pity. For die-hard McKennit fans only.
