Loved this film when I was a kid, and now thanks to this Amazon download my kids who are 9 and 6 are loving it too. Much better than the more recent remake. The stop motion effects have actually stood the test of time pretty well! Medusa still scares me!

I really enjoy watching this movie. It's one of the ones my husband and I go to when there's nothing interesting on TV in the evening. It's based on mythology and Sir Laurence Olivier was perfectly cast as Zeus, as were the rest of the Gods. It follows the adventures of Perseus as he travels to find a way to kill a sea going creature called the Kracken and prevent the death of Andromeda. I won't tell you any more, but it has an excellent cast, interesting story line and Ray

Definitely an upgrade visually from the original Clash of the Titans, with more of an action movie feel. The visuals are nice and reference back to the original. My son enjoyed it.

Revamp of the early 80s film. Enjoyable enough yarn. Not Liam Neesons best role to be honest but lots of moments in the film that were quite good. Worth your hour odd if the Greek mythology stuff is your bag.

So... you've got an ugly lady with a head full of snakes that she uses to throw at guys, Greek gods playing humans as mere pawns, an angry sea monster that's aching to be released from its watery prison, a good-looking prince who's wielding a sword to execute his own justice/understandable revenge while riding a flying horse with wings, and his sidekick is a mechanical gold owl that's main purpose is to inject a small dose of humor. What else could a film need, right? Well...

Story, key aspects of humanity presented in stage and a moral, what more could you ask for. Effects were superb for the time and even if they don’t match with todays standards they have enough detail to keep you glued to tv as story is superb(if you like Indian jones types)

Some of Ray Harryhausen's (best animation (though a lot of Pegasus flying through the air is little better than Douglas Fairbanks 50 years earlier in Thief of Baghdad ) but the rest of the movie often is incredibly clunky- the Olympus sequences - Poseidon beneath the ocean is done like old Diver Dan TV shows etc. So there is a mix of beautiful scenery and some great stop motion amidst some pretty weak other material. Enjoy this movie for what it is- a beautiful display of Ray Harryhausen‘s stop motion magic. The acting is nothing special, and their attempt to mimic star wars is cringingly obvious, but it’s still a lot of fun. I still find the medusa scene horrifying as an adult. Also a bit of trivia- a shot of the kraken in this film is used in the Malcolm and the Middle intro.

Die Neuauflage ist auch gut . Aber der alte Klassiker hat es mir angetan. Besonders Medusa ist gruselig . Die Animationsserie Johnny Quest wurde definitiv vom Medusalook beinflusst. Das ist griechische Mythologie und Umsetzung im wahren Geiste.

This film has been around for a while (1981) but it is a classic. The story of Persus the hero saving beautiful Andromeda facing impossible fights against the Kracken and Medusa. Armed with gifts from the gods he fights to regain Argos and save beautiful Andromeda. With Burgess Merideth, Maggie Smith, Claire Bloom, Lawrence Oliver, and Ursula Andress as the supporting cast, how could this be anything other than a hit. Bluray copy is pristine.
