This is a review for the Music on Vinyl pressing of Cypress Hill III: Temples of Boom, but also my own take on why I love this album and feel it is one of The Hill’s best releases. I first heard Cypress Hill, like many of my peers, back in high school when MTV kept playing Insane In The Brain and I started buying their tapes, yes, tapes. Temples of Boom ist ein sehr düsteres Album und in dieser Art sticht es komplett zwischen den anderen Cypress Alben heraus. Mir persönlich gefällt dieser düstere Stil sehr gut und ich bin der Meinung, dass B-Real hier genau rein passt.Schlechte Tracks gibt es nicht, nur den ein oder anderen durchschnittlichen Titel. Man kann ohne skippen durchhören, was mir persönlich immer sehr wichtig ist. Die features sind auch gut gewählt, wobei "Killa Hill Niggas" mit RZA und U-God nebenbei einer

Sowieso ein Klassiker der in keiner Musiksammlung fehlen sollte. Düster und kompromisslos. Ich finde auf Vinyl kommt die ganze Sache noch besser rüber. Rap wie er sein sollte. Der ganze Müll der die letzten Jahre als Rap betitelt wird hat damit überhaupt nichts mehr zu tun.

La música de este álbum es excelente, uno de mis favoritos. Sonido más oscuro y profundo que en Black Sunday. La calidad del vinil es excelente también.

This review has nothing to do with the album, which I actually think is a classic. This has to do with getting a plain old black vinyl when I actually ordered the coloured one. Amazon said that if I replaced it, they still couldn't guarantee I would even get a coloured vinyl.

As with most of my favorite albums I had to listen to this one a couple times before it started to click. But once it did, I kept it going for a several weeks. That is saying something when my first listening is 20 years after it came out.This album received very little attention outside of the rap community when it came out but it stands the test of time just like Black Sunday.Sen Dog does very little rapping on this album so it's basically a B-Real/Muggs album with a couple of guests.

I have been a fan of the Hill for many years now & honestly this is their best album. The front cover & artwork accompany the music hand in hand. It has a dark atmospheric & raw feel with B-Real ripping the mic every chance he gets & DJ Muggs lacing the beats. I had this cd when it first came out (I told you I was a long-time fan) & it holds so much nostalgia for me. I still remember most of the lyrics & this album has been out for 20 years! I used bump this all the time

Wow. I'm not sure why this album gets the bad press that it does, and I just have to put my 2 cents in support of the Boom. Although my favorite Cypress songs ever are probably on Black Sunday, Temples of Boom is the most consistent and enjoyable album of theirs that I own (1-4). DJ Muggs at his best with bangin' beats, unique sampling, and the rap flow beautifully juxtaposed to the music. If you liked their first two albums, I can't imagine how you won't love this.

I have always been a huge fan of Cypress Hill and Temples of Boom made me buy other albums such as - Black Sunday and Till Death Do Us Part - these are all great albums. For a rap fan I think this album is a must buy. It's dark and weird settings make the album one of Cypress Hills best.

I didn't like it when I first listened to it probably 'cause I was expecting some better material than "Black Sunday" which still is my favourite cypress's album.Anyway I was listening yesterday and I like it!! it's that usual combination between Muggs's beats and B-real& Sen Dog vocals altough u can barely listen to Sean...Most of the songs r great, only one didn't kept my attention, don't remember which one...And they continue to talk about

This cd is sweet. I really like how they experimented with a different sound on here. The Indian sitars and stuff really work for them. I think that "Illusions" is ... the best track Cypress has ever laid down. It's tight from beginning to end. Some of the other highlights include: "Spark Another Owl," "Throw Your Set in the Air," "Killa Hill Niggas," "Locotes," and "Everybody Must Get Stoned." ...

Definitely the best Cypress album. After "Black Sunday" the band could have made another album just like it. However, they chose to make a dark, scary, paranoid album. The lyrics are dark, irresponsible, and paranoid. You can hear the fear and disillusionment. The tracks are produced perfectly to match the mood of the lyrics. Still one of the most sonically innovate hip hop cd's ever released. Powerful.

This third disc from the "Stoned Raiders" isn't half as upbeat as "Black Sunday" was, but it's still not bad. I wouldn't say it's mellow, but it is darker, and sets a certain mood. In my review of Cypress Hill's "Black Sunday," I said it was their best album. However, "Temples of Boom" has their best songs on it. It's just not nearly as consistent in its quality.As far as production, DJ Muggs is at his absolute best here. He focuses on the spaciness of his production, creating a backdrop of slightly-sinister melodies rather than old funk samples. The result is a much more gangsta-oriented Cypress Hill, and it shows in B-Real's choice of song
