Der Film ansich ist gut.
Aber als ich den Film erwarb war als Wiedergabesprache Deutsch und Englisch angegeben.
Als ich am folge Tag den Film ausschauen wollte konnte ich die Wiedergabesprache nicht auf englisch wechseln. Das finde ich bescheiden, da ich den Film schon angefangen habe kann ich den Kauf nicht mehr rückgängig machen.

This movie was nothing like I expected it to be. Having lost my father and stuck in a life of many regrets, somehow watching this has given me hope again. I realize that while I may be halfway through my life, it's never too late to start over. I suppose it's all about our individual perception. This movie truly is honesty to the depth of my heart.

Although the information for the movie originally showed me German/OV... when I actually rented it, the movie was only available dubbed in German. :( Having superimposed voices completely ruins the movie. And especially these days, it's completely bizarre for the original version to not automatically also be available.

eine witzige, überraschende Geschichte mit toller Musik, liebevoll arrangiert und schön in Szene gesetzt. Einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsfilme über Familie, die Liebe und das Leben.

I was really excited when they announced this release on blu-ray. It was a instant pre-order, and I don't regret it. The picture quality and sound are fantastic. I'm not one for slip covers, but this was is fun. Has some good extra content.
Definitely get it, if your a fan of the film.

Cameron Crowes Rezept aus 'Jerry Maguire' und 'Almost Famous' war ja immer - man nehme eine all-american-Story, verpacke sie in geschmackvolle Bilder und garniere das mit einem Oldie-Soundtrack und Mandolinen. Was bei den ersten Filmen noch funktionierte, hat er in 'Elizabethtown' übertrieben - eine hanebüchene Story, die hübsch verpackt ist, bleibt einfach eine dünne Story. In den USA würde man sagen - lipstick on a pig.

I found the transfer to be quite beautiful. Almost film-like. Colors are saturated and there are scenes (check out the funeral parlor scene) that just glow. I am very happy with the purchase.
As for the movie itself, apparently people either love it or hate it. My family and I love it. In fact, Crowe makes that point in the special features. As to those features, there are not as many as found on later movies of his (Zoo or Aloha) but they are satisfactory.

Much more POP to the colors and scenes than the DVD, but also somewhat soft looking much of time (facial detail often isn't there), and populated by numerous & annoying digital blurring and other digital motion artifacts. I think the source was probably not the best, and so was "digitally scrubbed"...though I don't see much in the way of Edge Enhancement. Another sign is that the contrast is HARD ("edgy") at time, which goes along with the digital manipulation

Oh Elizabethtown! This movie has always been my Episode One. A movie I tried really hard to love, but was the ultimate let down that was for me in my early 20s. It’s script is a mess, but it’s a hard movie to really dislike. It’s so sincere and wears its heart on its sleeve. I’ll always happily revisit it every few years for old time sake.
The new ‘Paramount Presents’ totally sold me on the upgrade to Blu-ray. The 4K scanned transfer looks great and the packaging it charming. The deleted scenes

Dieser Film regt zum Nachdenken an. Er ist stellenweise sehr witzig.
Das Ende vom Lied ist. Mir hat er gezeigt das man den Kopf nicht hängen lassen soll und man auch mal kurz durchdrehen darf, wenn etwas schief geht. Aber dann durchatmen und das Leben weiter leben beziehungsweise es besser weiter leben.

Der Film ist nicht wie angegeben in der englischen Originalversion zu sehen, sondern nur in einer schrecklichen deutschen Synchronisation. Eine glatte Falschangabe, die erst auffällt, nachdem man den Film bereits gestartet und nicht mehr stornieren kann. In einer älteren Rezension hat schon jemand drauf hingewiesen. Schwach von Amazon, die Angaben nicht zu korrigieren. Den Film selbst fand ich ziemlich seicht, aber in OV wäre er vielleicht besser rüber gekommen.

Dem ist leider nicht so. Bei der Auswahl steht nur Deutsch zur Verfügung. Storno ist nicht mehr mgl. :-(

Sehr guter Film wenn man schlecht drauf ist oder es gerade mal nicht so gut läuft ;-)
Erstaunlicherweise ist der Film trotz Top Besetzung relativ unbekannt und daher bisher leider auch nicht auf BluRay zu erhalten, ich hoffe beides ändert sich...

Ich sah diesen Film vor einigen Jahren. Irgendwie blieb mir der Titel positiv im Gedächtnis, aber ich konnte mich nicht mehr wirklich an die Handlung erinnern. Nun tauchte er in meinen Vorschlägen auf und ich kaufte ihn spontan.
Im ersten Drittel fragte ich mich, was mir diesen Film so lange im Gedächtnis hielt, denn er nervte einfach. Die Charaktere typisch für amerikanische Produktionen - hysterisch, nervig und flach. Dann irgendwann zwischen Aussagen von Claire und der Asche von Mitch kam
