Bon il y a un petit plus tout de même au niveau de l'image surtout concernant la compression supérieure à l'antique DVD mais le piqué est trop doux pour du blu-ray, certainement le même master que celui du DVD mais c'est mieux que rien et puis l'on a la vrai VF en 5.1 DD ou la VOSTF.

Da bambina mi piaceva molto questo film, e nonostante oggi, a più di vent'anni di distanza, io abbia forse più spirito critico, resta comunque tra i miei preferiti.

Awesome movie, for some reason, I don't remember it being that gruesome, but overall, very good movie, would love to go to New York and see the lions that made up the movie like. Stuffed and displayed, somebody told me the lion's eyes look they're piercing into you.

This is a very underrated movie.
First and foremost, movies are a visual medium. The cinematography is spectacular!
Jerry Goldsmith's music is perfect.
The story is captivating. Some have accused it of being less than kind to lions. I do not dispute that, but people are animals too, and they have the right to defend themselves.
The story transcends all of those concerns. It is about more than man versus lion.

This was one of those movies where you go look up the history of it, and find out that it actually did exist! It's a hidden masterpiece and not given much acclaim due to marketing not seeing it as a success. And in all honesty, it's way better than the crap they are putting out now! Val Kilmer (Doc Holliday) gave an awesome performance.

I am a cat person...having said that, this one may actually convince you to get a spaniel, wolfhound, or chihuahua 😂🤣...
Two lions helping themselves to light snacks, brunch and dinner - and it's ALMOST all true. The story is based on actual events, with one major change reg. a character who was "made up"; but don't let that put you off. This will have you pulling your legs up onto the sofa, just in case there's a lion underneath...great film, fab acting by all concerned,

There is something about this movie that makes me rent it now and then. It's deep on so many levels and Val and Michael Douglas together are in their prime. It's metaphorical as well as visually incredible.

While viewing The Ghost and The Darkness, I didn't realize that it was loosely based on a true story. The narrative could have explained more of the true facts though. Instead the director took it a different direction, making it a bit gory for some.

Despite holding off buying this because there were only NTSC versions available, the product was relisted with what I thought was finally a European version. I thought this because there were new selection options, so I avoided the clearly labelled NTSC version for the other. However, it's still not playable on my EU dvd player. Extremely disappointed

This is an older movie with an interesting cast - not an obvious collection but still works. Based on a true story - it is a compelling story. Some violence, scary parts, language - but in my opinion I would watch with my 10 year old grandson. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. I liked the role played by John Kani (Samuel) as the narrator in the movie. I don't like the title given to the movie. It downplays the true story of the time between 1884 - 1905 during colonialism in Africa.

Wollte mir mit Sohnemann einen schönen Fernsehabend machen und hab mir den Film geliehen, weil ich ihn schon kannte und die Aufnahmen, sowie die Story echt toll fand.
Aber ..........
Wenn das HD ist, dann werde ich wohl bald erblinden!
Und HD war die Prämisse unter der ich den Film gebucht hatte!

The best way to view "The Ghost and The Darkness" is that it's best to watch it as a dramatized version of the real-life events. It isn't among the best films in history, nor is it a movie that one would instantly rewatch. But for what it is, it's entertaining.
The best parts are with Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer teaming up. I don't know why but Douglas just makes the film so much more fun when he is on screen. Of course, there are the very dumb, cliched moments

Nacht für Nacht greifen die Raubkatzen das Lager an und reißen gezielt einen Arbeiter nach dem anderen. 130 Menschen sterben, ohne dass die Tiere zur Strecke gebracht werden konnten.
