We are now having to replace our lights as the glass has broken twice. Once was a crack and we thought that we must have chipped the glass installing the light as it is rather fiddly to put up. However, the replacement glass randomly shattered.

Quite expensive but made well enough to justify that. My problem with it is that if you fit an LED bulb of the usual sort, when you switch it on half of the light is bright but the other half much less so. The diffuser glass doesn't manage to spread the light at all evenly and it's irritating.

The smaller size is perfect for a downstairs toilet. Using with a 7W LED which gives just the right amount of light for the size of room. I doubt this size would be bright enough for anything but the smallest bathrooms where probably the 30cm size would be better.

Very happy with this purchase and a reasonable price for a smart,modern looking IP44 rated light. Easy to fit, although as other reviewers have said fitting the bulb is a bit fiddly. Very nice quality chrome and thick frosted glass, you cannot see the bulb,wires or fittings when turned off

We are very pleased with this version of the light fitting, and this is our second purchase of the same unit. This one has an E27 bulb fitting, so you can choose to use LED or conventional bulbs as you prefer. This proved important with a new bathroom we had fitted with 4 spotlights, and this as a central fitting. The spotlights themselves gave great modern crisp lighting, but having the additional central light allowed us to use a much warmer colour bulb to provide an additional element of

neede to replace an old big round gold light on the landing but needed a modern one of the same size (cover up the marks, holes, etc made by the gold one and i found this nice modern Dakota 300 light, cheapest price was Amazon UK, light looks good and was easy to fit with frosted center to hide the bulb. i also have the Dakota smaller version in the downstairs toilet so knew the brand was good

This is the second one of these I have bought. They are better constructed than the ones I had before, and look good. The other good thing is they take a normal screw-fit bulb so I can put an LED in which should last for years.

Good quality light. Great chrome finish and nice quality thick frosted glass. I agree with the feedback from Mat that it is a bit fiddly to put the glass and cover on at first, but the trick is to make sure that you line up and slot the bayonet fixings in the glass cover/holder over the lip of the light housing then push on and twist. Lovely design.

Well pleased. Sturdy construction: it does not require an earth as correctly stated. Additional bonus is that it is easy to change/install a new bulb...the chrome bezel rotates to remove glass and bezel together. As an add-on, I had an accident with the lamp glass.I couldn't find a replacement service on Amazon.Spoke to the very helpful Astro lighting UK who put me in touch with one of their retailers (dusk lighting). Purchased the new glass (£12 +PP)on Tue arrived at Fri lunchtime. Pleasant

After having spent £119 on the Firstlight Atlantis LED Flush Fitting Diffuser with Chrome Trim, White, to find that I paid all that money for a plastic light that after 5 days the transformer had blown and the light no longer worked, I refused to spent that kind of money on a light again. So after spending £45 on a similar looking light, I was pleasantly surprised. After buying quality lighting for the rest of my home I decided to get this more affordable light for my bathroom.
Although not particularly expensive I am still left wondering where my money went - It looks very cheap. The glass is brittle and chipped off at the edge where it fits onto the retaining spring (and this was after I bent the springs back slightly to aid fit). Best look elsewhere.
