Album di debutto da solista per Björk (non contando il primissimo album rilasciato nel ‘77 a soli 11 anni) con sonorità elettropop e house, piacevole all’ascolto. Forse il suo album più “pop”.

2 Lieder auf der CD haben gesprungen. Ist aber nicht schlimm, weil die nicht in meinem Geschmack waren.
Ich gebe 3 Punkte , weil mir nur ein paar Lieder gefallen, das hat nichts mit dem Händler zu tun.

J'adore cette artiste mais j'ai du me tromper d'album, et la je suis déçus, le mastering rien à dire, mais voilà! Bref ceci dit ce n'est que mon ressenti. En ce qui concerne la livraison j'ai reçu le CD dans un boitier cassé, je que c'est un accident de parcourt au moment de la livraison, bref j'avais un autre boitier cristal vierge et le problème est réglè, tous mi l'un dans l'autre me fait mettre une étoile.

Chi l'aveva apprezzata all'interno dei Sugarcubes o nelle sue prime due timide prove soliste difficilmente poteva aspettarsi un salto qualitativo di questa portata. L'apertura di "Human behaviour" chiarisce subito l'intenzione dell'artista: pop dance con forti inflessioni elettroniche e qualche spruzzata di hip hop. "Crying" e "Venus as a boy"

Al contrario di un precedente commentatore non lo definire un album d'avaguardia. Credo che fosse inteso come complimento ma ad alcuni (come me) il termine può spaventare un po'.
E' un album estremamente eterogeneo, direi nel complesso molto bello con alcune gemme assolute ("Venus as a boy" e "Violently happy").
Architetture musicali complesse ma mai fredde, anzi tutto il contrario.
Una voce unica e stupenda, adatta ai ritmi sostenuti come a quelli lenti, al rock

Björks Debutalbum enthält einige starke Lieder, aber auch leider mitunter einige ihrer schwächeren Songs. Es ist wohl ihr poppigstes Werk unterstützt durch Alternative, Trip Hop, Jazz, Dance, House Elementen.
o1. Human Behaviour ist ein Klassiker - leider bin ich dem Lied nie verfallen, obwohl der Text genial ist. (o7/1o)
o2. Crying gehört zu ihren schwächsten Liedern (o4/1o)
o3. Venus as a boy klingt so herrlich unbeschwert und unschuldig. Die Instrumente und ihre kindlichen Vocals harmonieren

This is one of my favourite Bjork albums, and it is her first album, such the title debut.
This is such a banger, a great way to start off an artist is Career, by making music that no one has hear.
A experimental mix of many genres, but with such estrangelly eclectic vocals.
If you are barely starting to get into Bjork. I recommend this album
Also Post, Vespertine, and Biophilia.
If you want to listen to Medulla and Vola, I say do so, but those albums are a hit or miss with a lot of Bjork fans.

| A Fine Debut From A Musician In Constant Evolution | 2014-02-06
Not to bore all the readers here, but it took me a long time to come back to Bjork's music. I remember watching the video for "Human Behavior" on MTV when "Debut" came out and I remember thinking how extraordinary, primal, and completely different the music sounded than anything out there at that time in alternative music. Fast forward 22 years later and I'm now just getting into her music, but so many other musical interests (progressive rock, jazz, and classical)

This CD has several of my few 5 star-rated songs on my iPod. "Human Emotion", "Venus as a Boy", "Big Time Sensuality", "The Anchor Song". Bjork's simple cover of the jazz standard "Like Someone in Love" is intriguing, though I'd have preferred cello over harp. So glad I bought this.

Sie passt meiner Meinung nach in keine Schublade, alternativ ist die einzige Bezeichnung die es wenigstens etwas trifft. Die Alben "Debut", "Biophilia" und "Homogenic" sind gleichermaßen beeindruckend und vielseitig. Wer Björk kennt wird sie lieben. Wer sie nicht kennt sollte vorher in die Alben reinhören. :)

Bjork pour les non initiés,c'est l'alliance d'un son souvent antagoniste,comme peuvent l'etre le feu et la glace(representatif de l'islande,terre de naissance de Bjork).Tout ca influence grandement sa musique.Pas forcement une trés grande chanteuse néanmoins elle sait l'utiliser dans tout les registres.Bref la musique de Bjork est difficile a expliquer, le mieux c'est encore de l'écouter.

il debutto di Bjork non può non far parte della collezione di chiunque sia un cultore della musica d'avanguardia. L'artista islandese ha fatto altre opere degne d'acquisto, specialmente ad un prezzo così basso, ma questo è davvero il suo capolavoro. Originale il suono, il testo cantato, copertina del compact disc e grafiche interne.

Je n'écoute plus les morceaux de cet album.
Je les ai trop usés en boucle.
Ils ont tous bons.
C'est frais, c'est plein d'énergie et d'inventivité. D'émotion aussi.
J'attends désespérément l'album qui le détrônera dans mon coeur.
Quant aux (presque) petits concerts qui ont accompagnés cet album, je n'en verrai plus jamais... Jamais?

Die Sugarcubes mochte ich schon als junges Mädchen wegen der Stimme von Björk und deshalb lag es sehr nah mir die Soloalben zuzulegen. Björk berührt mich mit ihrer Stimme, mit ihrem kraftvollen Gesang, der wie aus einer Laune heraus mit Höhen und Tiefen spielt. Selten erlebe ich so viel Emotionalität in Popsongs. Bei Björk scheint der Gesang mal sphärisch, mal voller Wut und Angst. Ihre Lieder zaubern Klangkaskaden, die mich mitreißen und versinken lassen. Björk ist speziell und nicht jedermanns

Love this album. Was a Sugarcubes fan and a bit nervous about this one, as many "solo" albums just don't have the magic that the group albums do, but this one is definitely the exception to the rule. A fun album and one that is great from beginning to end, in my opinion. Good showcase of Bjork's unique voice. Some cool club tunes, too.
I think this is the very best Bjork album. It captures the raw energy of her talent and the production is excellent.

No one sounded like this little Icelandic chanteuse with the captivating voice, and strange but tuneful melodies, when she left the Sugarcubes and ventured on with this enchanting solo album... One minute churning out irresistible dance anthems like 'Big Time Sensuality' and 'Violently Happy', and next dropping the beat to a silently addictive 'Venus As A Boy', and then haunting us with her arresting wails on 'Human Behavior' ... disturbingly sweet

Dieses Album war nach dem Best Of von ihr mein zweites Album. Aber ich habe dieses Album "Debut" sehr genossen. Dieses Alum zeigt welche sanfte Stimme Björk haben kann. Es ist irgendwie so wie ihr Konzert in Royal Opera House London. Wirklich weiter zu empfehlen.

This isn't the eccentric, avant-garde mistress of today, this is a younger woman who has discovered drum machines and outdated synths. Yeah, this isn't my first Bjork album, Post was, but it just makes me wonder at the shear evolutionary changes between the two.Most of this album consists of trip hop beats and poppy ordeals; there are some great tracks, namely the singles, but aside from that the instrumentation is drum machine after drum machine.
