The battery does not seem to hold power to speak of at this point and the charger is not the right one for the charger, although it works despite the battery not " clicking in". The lens cap is ok except that the strap that attaches it to the camera is broken. I am keeping it because i can use a friend's battery and camera strap and cables to download the photos from my upcoming trip. I think the camera itself works ok.

Camera is unable to read any SD card and the battery only lasts for 5mins. Despite it being a second hand camera, I expected it to be in a decent shape. I am unable to use this camera. I have initiated the return process and will only be able to return it when I return back from overseas.

This video was shot in the night of October 23rd, 2014. These days most of the vidoes have HD output functionality. However FZ18 has VGA output. Inspite of being an old technology, the results are amazing. Even in the absence of light and the video beautifully captures the colour of the objects.Day photos and videos are awesome. This camera is handy and good lenses. There is not much difference to a naked eye and to an unprofessional whether the shot was taken with a 8 MP camera or 24 MP camera.

This is a great first-dlr camera to own. I knew nothing about photography when I first bought it and learned one thing after another till I was taking photos that looked like a pro took them. I used the camera almost exclusively outdoors and have produced some striking photos. My favorites are the American Toad, the White Peony and 'Poser' , a tree swallow that sat on a post and allowed me to photograph him. I swear he was actually posing for the camera. Was a long time film user and this was my second foray into digital cameras. I used high end equipment years ago and have been wary of digital/electronic cameras. Moisture sensitivity was a fear and image quality looked dull from most cameras I had seen.The Lumix has a nice form factor and works best as a point and shoot with a long zoom. If that fits your needs you will like it.The output is average as the Lumix software give a soft image and muted colors. Even outdoor shots in good sunlight

I did not want to waste money like I did with a brand new Nikon DSLR, which was way too heavy and bulky, gave me crap color and ended up being trashed.So got this for two reasons. It's light and small. I travel write and carry a backpack (ultralite). Sometimes I am in small places without much room and the FZ18 has worked fine. I can slide it easily into a pocket whilst negotiating cramped trails and strange locations, then whip it out for a series of shots.Only drawback, so far, is that

Die Kamera wurde schnell geliefert. Sie hatte einige Kratzer am Gehäuse, was mich nicht weiter stört, da das Objektiv in gutem Zustand ist.Was jedoch erwähnt werden sollte, wenn man etwas verkauft, ist, ob der Vorbesitzer ein Raucher ist. Die Kamera wurde mit Tasche geliefert (was wohl im Preis inbegriffen war) und die stinkt nach Qualm, selbst nach 2maligen Waschen stinkt sie immer noch; kann ich also nicht gebrauchen, hätte nicht mitverkauft werden sollen.

I've had this particular camera once before. I am familiar with it which makes the learning curve non existent. There were a few issues with the packaging but the owner of this store contacted me immediately to resolve the issue. I also explained that I was in a hurry to get it since I was leaving the state for several weeks and needed it for my trip. He told me that he would rush it out to me ASAP.. I've used a lot of cameras, and this is one of the best all-round models I've ever used. Stills are sharp and clear with great color reproduction. Handling is very intuitive. The controls are well placed and the menus easy to navigate. Performance is god, with quick start-up, virtually no shutter lag, and quick, accurate auto-focus. The downside is the video. While it performs well, the video quality is less than optimum. If you're used to HD, it will seem downright primitive. But

This camera works great. Picture quality is excellent, the 18x zoom is very fast, and there are settings for everyone. You can keep it on Intelligent Mode for easy picture taking, or you can go fully manual and set everything the way you want, with many pre-sets inbetween (sports, scenery, night, etc). The only down side is that my Smart phone is so handy so this phone doesn't get used as much as it should.

This was a perfect replacement for my older camera of the exact same model I've had 5 years, this camera is extremely easy to use and the many useful settings work great with minimal or easy exposure tweaking, and the lighting settings are useful for different environments too. With a tripod, it can take some decent long exposures of a starry sky too (not crazy high quality there but works nicely enough to be a really cool thing to do!) I took this camera to Africa to take nature pictures, which requires a camera which loads extremely quickly and can handle moving objects, which are often quite far away. For me, this camera ticked every box and never let me down. It has many functions, which to be completely honest i didn't use, because the auto mode did exactly what i wanted.

I don't know a lot about the technical aspects of this camera, but I can tell you I have taken every type of shot I can think of. Nightime outdoor stuff: great. Inside the house: great. Outside detail stuff: great. And I love the rechargable batteries. Bought an extra battery for $6. Can take about 300 shots without having to change batteries. There are newer cameras, but nothing that can match the lens on this thing.

I bought this camera to replace my GE X5. The Lumix, even though older, way out performs the newer GE. It takes nice macro pictures. The zoom is wonderful. I highly recommend this camera to those who want the easiness of point and shoot, but with a more professional look.

This camera was way ahead of the other point and shoot cameras I have owned. The reason I learned is the big Leica lens on it. I get the sharpness of a high priced DSLR for a fraction of the cost.

When my first digital camera, a Sony DSCW1, stopped working I researched and finally bought the Panasonic camera. I was attracted by the zoom function, as I enjoy taking photos of wildlife, especially birds. I have had the Panasonic for almost two years now, and still have not managed understand it. There is a multitude of settings, menus, sub menus and sub-sub menus, which are endlessly confusing. Unfortunately pictures are dim with the automatic settings, and need to be "lightened"

The camera worked very well and took great pictures but then the lens "stuck". I sent it to Panasonic and they claimed that it was damp inside. It was never dropped in water but I took pictures is some very damp conditions. They would not fix it even though it was under warranty.I would not recommend this company.

Bought the Panasonic DMC-FZ18 6 months ago for my forth coming cruise as I wanted a good zoom. But to start with I compared the photos with my little Sony Cybershot and the Sony was by far the best and to make matters worse the LCD has gone blurred I cant take photos unless I turn it off and on several times before it gets clear. even the Intelligent Auto does not seem to stop the shake and even worse I have mislaid the receipt so cant send it back for repairs but the latter was my fault I
