I have learned to put these on any camera that will be installed in an outdoor rural area or blacktopped area. They really "light up" the area for a much improved nigh vision picture.

Massively improves the night vision on the g3 camera. Closely matches that of the recently released g4 pro obviously without the amazing sensor. But still, great addition!!

Works great as a quick solution. Obviously never going to be as good as an IR flood light, which I also bought, plus it is triple the cost of a flood light. However the ease of adding to your camera which also supplies the power is great. The only downside and this is an issue of the concept not the product is that it illumates rain immediately infront of the camera aiding in false notifications. Thus would not happen if the light source (stand-alone) was used..

It is a great idea .... to provide more IR illumination to the area but it's design doesn't really give you what you are expecting. I would say that it increases the depth of view by 15%. When you buy an IR emitter you expect it to add no less than 50% and they typically add 75% while bringing you more illumination the entire throw. This adds a little bit of range however it washes and bleeds directly into the camera lens and the near view area is over-washed because of the halo of

Works as described, extends the night vision range of the UVC-3 AF and Bullet cameras.
Easy to install, although removal of the sun shield (visor) can require a bit of force.

My son wanted this to help him with a school project he is doing at school - he is really pleased with it and as hasn't encountered any problems. As described, delivered on time boxed well.

I have a G3 bullet mounted on a second story overlooking the backyard. The built-in IR was just OK but didn't provide adequate illumination. The IR extender does a great job as flooding that area with light. If you look at the pictures you can see a very clear difference with the stock IR vs this extender. It is pretty pricey though for a simply IR ring. Still if you need better illumination this does work great!
