True To Life Story. | 30-09-2023
Even though this is based on an old Arthurian legend, it is set in modern day New York and is relatable to people and places we are familiar with.
Others have outlined the premise of the storyline so I won't do that here. I will simply say that what made this my favorite Robin Williams film is the idea that 4 strangers whose lives are in turmoil and are psychologically "wounded" help one another with the problems that, alone, they can't solve. A good lesson for everyday life.

Doesn't play in my DVD player | 06-09-2023
How did I receive this movie before expected due date?I received the DVD on September 5th.From what I understood the movie wasn't suppose to arrive until after September 15th and before October 6th. And why am I not getting my FULL REFUND $8.69.
I ordered an English movie not German one. This DVD won't play in my American DVD Player.
Please help me with this situation,

Film méconnu de son réalisateur et pourtant c'est un chef d'oeuvre, un film poignant où on passe des rires au larmes.
Avec des acteurs formidables ( une pensée pour Robin).
Le coffret est très beau avec un petit livre très intéressant sur les anecdotes du tournage et de sa conception.
L'image est correct, forcément pas au standard des films actuels mais toutefois au dessus du DVD, idem pour le son surtout en vo.
J'espère un jour une sortie en 4k au niveau de ce film culte.

Before even getting a ‘ visual ‘ on the actual DVD, it was apparent that this had been previously opened, and ‘ in an amateur attempt, ‘ re- shrunk’ .
This DVD was advertised as NEW, and purchased in that belief.
The Scratches over the entire surface are witness to the fact that this product is NOT NEW, and had been Very Used !

De lo mejor re Terry Gilliam. Aunque es una historia ajena, que se le ofreció primero a James Cameron, el director de “Brazil” aprovecha para remarcar su propia dualidad entre el autor soñador de mundos fantásticos y el objeto de marqueting responsable de los prpios fracasos. Maravilla, ya digo.

I love Gilliam. He makes amazing, arresting movies that are fun and thoughtful. But I’d say this is his best. A beautiful cast, giving amazing performances, not a beat or note out of place. It’s an amazing movie that always movies me.

My adult family ordered the movie because we enjoy Robin Williams acting. But this movie was violent and didn't hold our interests. Can't even remember in detail what we didn't like about because we stopped watching very shortly after the beginning of the movie.

Ex-Monty-Python Terry Gilliam hat hier einen Film voller Fantasie und mit einer tiefgehenden Geschichte abgeliefert, der Jeff Bridges als scheinbar abgebrühten Radiomoderator und Robin Williams als verwirrten Don Quichotte zusammenführt. Werden Sie einander heilen können?
Klassiker und auch geschenktauglich, dabei noch nichts für Kinder.

Ein zeitlos schöner, bewegender und skurril-amüsanter Film mit großartigen Schauspieler*innen um Schuld, Sühne, Wiedergutmachung und vor allem viel Mitgefühl. Der Titel ist nach einer Figur der Gralslegende benannt. Der Rote Ritter als tiefes seelisches Trauma bzw. der Gral in moderner Form als Erlösung sind fein in die Handlung eingearbeitet.
Jeff Bridges spielt einen egozentrischen Radiojockey, der durch seine unüberlegten, provokativen Worte ungewollt ein Massaker in einer Bar befeuerte. Vom

The Fsher King has been a long time favorite. I loved that Robin Williams played role that's just made for only him. And then there's Jeff Bridges. It's not all comedy either. I really feel the emotional pain of being in the main theme of this one. I always cry when I watch it. It's a great one for couples to watch together! A really excellent movie.

Il y a des inconditionnels de Terry Gilliam. Il y a – catégorie probablement plus étoffée – des réfractaires à Terry Gilliam. La dernière catégorie, sans doute la plus nombreuse, le trouve inégal mais ne peut s’empêcher de revenir à certains de ses films, aussi imparfaits soient-ils. On peut aimer beaucoup, comme c’est mon cas, Time Bandits / Bandits, bandits (1981), Brazil (1985) ou Twelve Monkeys / L’Armée des douze singes (1995) et réserver pourtant la place de choix à ce film pour le coup

| Ein seltsamer Klassiker | 04-05-2021
Wer Robin Williams kennt, weiß, dass er meist ganz besondere Rollen spielt. Manchmal besonders einfühlsame Personen, manchmal ein wenig verrückte. Das trifft auch bei diesem Film zu. Meisterlich und sehr liebenswert spielt er den obdachlosen Perry, welcher sich selbst als König der Fischer sieht.
Obwohl die Geschichte mir sehr gut gefällt, war sie an ein paar Stellen etwas zu skurril. Alles in allem ein schöner Film mit Herz.
