I had high hopes for this instrument as I had played one a friend had. But after having it for a month, I find that no matter what I do, it will not stay in tune even after playing it for 30 seconds. So I can't recommend this one.

Good quality instrument.
Keep in mind that this is factory fresh...meaning that the last hands to touch it were at the factory... So a basic set up is required... Not too difficult if you are familiar with the mechanics of stringed instruments... If not then take it to someone who is. Acoustically the supplied strings are terrible so replace them at set up. The pick up has a nice full sound to it.

I purchased this mandolin about 6 months ago and I've been very impressed with the quality and sound considering the price. It sounds especially good plugged in. If you're on the fence and just need solid mandolin on the cheap, I'd recommend it. It is probably worth about double the price IMO.

i thought stepping up to name brand for an instrument would result in a quality product but not so in this case. the tuner keys are cheap, were poorly mounted the ferrules around the tuner posts were falling out and the second and third string set’s won’t intonate and it needs work on the frets for leveling and smoothing. i expected this with budget instruments i’ve bought before but not from a name like ibanez

Quality poor. Playing very difficult on the very narrow neck. Sound quality poor. I would definitely try and get more cash to put towards an Ozark mandolin. This Ibanez is rubbish.

It arrived in perfect condition. It looks beautiful and after tuning it, it sounds spectacular. I can hear the resonance on the top. But remember I am new to this. Have not plugged it in cause I don't have an amp, yet. And I promised myself "No amp till I know 5 songs." Will update as I learn mre.

This is a nice Mandolin for the money. Mine stays in tune. I like the adjustable truss rod, if the action needs adjusting. I needed to adjust mine. The only thing I dislike is the electronics. When I record with the built-in jack, it sounds like an electric guitar, not a Mandolin. So I used a Shure 75 microphone instead, to mike the Mandolin, which sounds much better. I don't think you could beat the quality for the affordable price. However, in hindsight, I would NOT recommend buying this

I was surprised by the poor quality of this instrument. Cheap strings cheap construction. If you have a lot of time to work this instrument....maybe ??? I waited too long for the return otherwise????

It's surprisingly good for the money | 06.01.2023
I'm a guitar player so only wanted a mandolin for occasional use and didn't want to pay a lot. You can tell this Ibanez is made to a price but it's surprisingly good for that price. Needs a little fiddling to set it up well but then I was very happy with the tuning, intonation, acoustic and electric sounds, and finish. Might be my sloppy guitar technique but I just need to file the sharp edge off the end of the bridge to stop it digging into the heel of my hand.

I have played and even made fretted instruments in the past and I know mandolins have very high string tensioned so was not surprised that there was very little tension in the strings and protective foam under the bridge. The bridge did have notches but as supplied the bass G string was over twice as far from the edge of the fretboard at the bridge end than at the nut - should be parallel all the way down. Arrived in two days. Nice instrument for the money. Anyone learning the Mandolin will be happy with this purchase. The strings don't seem great so I replaced them with some better strings. Sound is great. Make sure to set up the bridge properly.

The only reason it’s 4 stars is that the pick up out put is a little low. And find yourself a strap or some string like I do; it makes it easier to play. The tone is great, getting it set up doesn’t take to long, it’s holding its tuning nicely. And unlike other companies like Vangoa and such that you haven’t heard of that offer a cheaper product. Looks like a lovely little instrument, really well made for the price. Heartbreaking that it was packaged in a flimsy box with too much tension on the strings - as a result it was delivered with a massive split through the heel. So sad this little beauty will never make music…

You’re going to want to install a peg on the base of the neck because if you put the strap on the headstock then the instrument will go out of tune faster and warp the neck in time. Fun instrument to play, the pickup has a little buzz in the signal.

Bel aspect, son très sympa.J'utilise un looper pour jouer sur un accompagnement guitare sur lequel je joue des chants et contrechants avec la mandoline et/ou ma guitare. De plus je fais des montages avec garage band en branchant la mandoline sur ma carte son qui va sur mon mac. Donc le fait d'avoir pour 209€ une mandoline électro acoustique Ibanez, c'est top.

I decided to take up mandolin after borrowing a coworker’s to play over a weekend. As a life-long guitarist I was just ready to try something new. This little Ibanez is so cool, with the quality I’ve come to expect from them. Great sound, nice looking, so playable after setting up the bridge. My one regret - buying the model with a pickup. Excited to get it. Mandolin came in with a scratches all arose the buddy. It being electric acoustic I hooked it up to multiple places and nothing. Electronics were defective. When going for a return they charged a ridiculous restocking fee (Half the cost of the mando) and said nope it was just fine. Pretty convenient for them I suppose. Also claimed I had scratched it.

I'm a beginner mandolin player but experienced in other instruments. Once I got everything tuned, everything sounded great and I've been learning new melodies and chords each day. The pick-up for the amp is just okay. There are background crunchies that I don't hear on my amp when I plug in my acoustic-electric ukulele that has a higher quality pick-up.

Although I know quite a bit about guitars buying an electric mandolin on a budget of £300 was new territory. Manufacturers disguising what I would call 'furniture wood' under a latin name is off-putting for a start. The Ibanez is Spruce, Sapele and Mahogany each no stranger to a guitar player. This mandolin is superb, both acoustically and electric for it's price. It also has approval from a 'proper' mandolin player.

Amazing deal for the money. I needed a mandolin for a series of shows and I didn't want to hassle with installing a pickup. This fit the bill perfectly. Played well right out of the box. So, I promised myself I'd learn at least 20 instruments to a competent level in my lifetime. I'm 40 years old now so after learning the electric guitar (lead), acoustic guitar (fingerpicking), Ukulele, Piano, Harmonica, I decided to take up the Kalimba just recently (thumb piano).......and the Mandolin. Was ist Trustami
Trustami durchsucht regelmäßig das Internet nach neuen Bewertungen, um diese an einem Ort zu bündeln und so auf einen Blick für Interessenten bereit zu stellen.
Wir möchten es jedem Internetnutzer so einfach wie möglich machen sich über Produkte zu informieren. Anstatt sich nur auf eine Quelle zu verlassen, bieten wir eine zentrale Anlaufstelle, um mit wenig Aufwand sämtliche Bewertungen zu einem Produkt zu erhalten.
Trustami erhebt selbst keine Bewertungen und ist als unabhängige Instanz darum bemüht das Internet transparenter zu gestalten. Es werden automatisch gängige Internetplattformen und Webseiten durchsucht, um Bewertungen zu finden und Produkte zu identifizieren. Unser Anspruch ist hierbei eine hilfreiche Zusammenstellung an Produktinformationen anzubieten, auf die sich jeder verlassen kann. Die Zusammenführung von Produktinformationen erfolgt bestmöglich und kann verschiedene Produktvarianten umfassen.
Trustami ist als Projekt aus der Technischen Universtität Berlin (TUB) entstanden mit dem Ziel das Internet vertrauenswürdiger zu machen. Forschungsarbeiten im Bereich „Social Media Analytics & Big Data“ am Lehrstuhl für Informations- und Kommunikationsmanagement (IKM) lieferten einen ersten Prototyp, der die Erhebung und Sammlung von Reputationsinformationen ermöglichte. Dieser wurde anschließend im Rahmen eines geförderten Stipendiums weiterentwickelt und ist heute ein eigenständiges Spin-Off.
