Different to what was shown in the advert. | 27.10.2022
Ordered this item having previously owned one but when it came the item received wasn't as shown in the advert and as such was no way it would function as a continuity tester.
There was no spring to hold a battery and the wire was actually just wrapped around the bulb.
Very cheaply made and not fit for purpose.
My previous item (not from this supplier) had a spring over the battery to which 1 end of the battery connected and then at the bottom of the tube a terminating plate onto which the

Despite seeing previous negative reviews I found this works well and the light is more than adequate using an ordinary AA battery

Poor quality, bad design. Not up to Silverline's normal standard. | 10.04.2021
This is cheaply made and not worth nearly 8GBP. The ad states it takes an AA cell (1.2V) but the internal 'bulb' supplied only shows a tiny glow at this voltage. The terminal in the handle part is loose in the housing. The internal spring is too long to allow the unit to be screwed fully home. I had to dig out an old cycle lamp bulb to use to get any glow that can be seen in daylight, and shorten the spring to close the unit up. In the end, I will only use this with an external power

Fun fact - die AA-Batterie ist zu lange für das Gehäuse. Da hat wohl der Chinese nicht gewusst wie lange die benötigte Batterie ist ... !!!

But at this price how can not you give it 5 stars. It is such a useful piece of kit. Yes its true that the light is a bit crap and probably impossible to see clearly in bright sunlight. But when are you ever using a continuity tester in bright sunlight ? At least I'm not and as such can't really fault it !

Die Feder muss gekürzt werden, sonst passt die Batterie nicht so hinein, dass sich alles ordentlich verschrauben lässt. Das Licht ist sehr schwach.

Worried by many reviews, but as a non expert found it simply did simple jobs like fuse and circuit continuity testing. Light adequately bright. Main concern is that plastic threads seem dubious and I might have to resort to tape the two parts together.

Preis wäre ja ok - aber 3,10 EURO Versandkosten für ein unbrauchbares Gerät und dann 3,70 EURO Rücksendkosten.
Leider bin ich in diese Falle hereingefallen - also ich nenne es B_ _ _ _ _

This product is total cheap rubbish , the electrical connections are very poorly made , an AA battery will not fit in the battery compartment , and when you finally fit an AAA battery , the bulb barely lights up. Do yourself a favour and give this product a very wide berth.

Das Plastikgewinde ist recht wackelig und die angegebene Batterie passt von der Länge nicht. Ich habe eine kürzere mit einem Stückchen Kunststoffröhrchen "dicker" gemacht, damit sie nicht hin und her wackeln kann. Funktion ist dadurch gegeben aber im Großen und Ganzen sind meine Erwartungen nicht erfüllt worden.

Nachdem die vorgesehene Batterie eingelegt wurde, konnte das Gerät nicht zusammengeschraubt werden. Der Abstand vom -pol der Batterie zur Lampe ist so gering dass die Kontaktfeder keinen Platz mehr hat. Ich musste die Feder kürzen und verbiegen dass es überhapt funktioniert. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht. Hat man die Funktion mit eingelegter Batterie überhaupt mal geprüft? Ich glaube nicht.

Der wesentliche Kritikpunkt ist die Batterie.
Laut Beschreibung des Herstellers soll eine AA-Batterie passen. Das ist aber nicht der Fall. Es passt zwar der Durchmesser aber nicht die Länge. Es gelingt nicht, nach dem Einsetzen der Batterie beide Gehäusehälften zusammenzuschrauben. Die über die Lampe geschobene Andruckfeder sitzt bereits auf Block, bevor das Gewinde überhaupt fassen kann.
Eine AAA-Batterie passt in der Länge, hat aber im Durchmesser viel zu viel Spiel. Das kann zu

Several issues lead me to rate this product a one star only. The "alligator" silicon cover slides every time it is pressed exposing the contact metal. Also, the battery's retention spring is not adequate as it is way too long for an AA one, as recommended. Once the AA is fitted the spring becomes messy. Also, the lamp/led/indicator bright is so weak that's impossible to see in daylight conditions. Not an endorsable product, to me.

Metal parts rusty. Also the packaging staples. Works ok but bulb very dim - tried to purchase a replacement bulb on the net but are no longer made . Will have to replace with home made LED.

Ich muß mal eine Lanze für dieses Teil brechen.
Lieferung war pünktlich und o.k.
Nach allen negativen Rezessionen wollte ich ursprünglich schon stornieren, gut, dass ich es nicht getan habe.
Der Prüfer funktioniert einwandfrei, auch die Lampe kann man bei Tageslicht gut sehen.
Wenn man anstatt der 1,5V Batterie noch eine 3V Batterie einbaut, gibts gar nichts mehr zu bemängeln.
Ich brauche das Teil nicht täglich, deshalb bin ich jetzt froh, dass ich es bestellt habe.

Kontrolllampe des Durchgangsprüfers glimmt nur ein wenig, bei Tageslicht schlecht erkennbar. liegt nicht an der Batterie, sondern an der Empfindlichkeit des Glühdrahtes, da sollte man am Produkt nachbessern!

Il est dit qu'une pile doit etre insérée dans le corps de cet appareil or la partie basse du corp est occupée par une lampe à incandescence. Il est tout à fait impossible d'y insérer une pile !
De plus, il aurait été moins couteux d'un insérer une led (et la resistance serie convenant à la tension de la pile). Cela aurait pris bien moins de place et cela aurait décupler la durée de vie de la pile.

But at this price how can not you give it 5 stars. It is such a useful piece of kit. Yes its true that the light is a bit crap and probably impossible to see clearly in bright sunlight.
